CHAPTER 325: Reviewing UFC 100

Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher

In what some thought that the fight was won by Belcher, Akiyama perhaps had luck in the sense that this victory could launch him on a better path towards being a star in the UFC rather than what a loss would bring to his career in the US.
I think Akiyama needs to further make himself feel comfortable in the octagon should he want to get further success in later fights.

My Fight Rating: 3 stars out of 5

Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping

That knockout of Henderson towards the very end adds up to my fight rating.
And then the resuming flying thunder of a dropping elbow on an unconscious Bisping in midair.
Hendo dished out his payback I suppose.

My Fight Rating: 3 stars out of 5 (4 ½ stars out of 5 for the knockout though)

Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves

5 rounds in which GSP dominated the majority of the fight.
Alves found it difficult to win against GSP in the fight.

My Fight Rating: 3 ½ stars out of 5

Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir

I’m not sure, but it looked as if Mir came in with a wrong game plan or he let Brock take advantage of him when Brock pinned on the ground, against the cage and then the non-stop punches to the head/face.
I’m not going to comment on Lesnar’s remarks after the fight, just keep the fight review sticking to the fight itself.

My Fight Rating: 3 ½ stars out of 5
