Alternative Title: 3 Points of Spirit, Resilience …& Championship
Positives
- Barcelona gets another victory. 3 points added, and the top position and the gap between the 2nd place is maintained.
- The 7th straight win for Barcelona in all competitions. And this is the 6th La Liga win in a row.
- A win at Pamplona will be a good factor concerning that it’s a tough ground.
- Another comeback win. This is the third Liga game in a row that Barcelona came back from behind to win.
- Eto’o scored the fist goal and added to his Liga & Pichichi tally. Plus very good shot on the goal as well.
- Messi made that great pass to Eto’o for the Cameroonian’s goal. He drew the Osasuna defenders towards him before making the pass backwards to Eto’o.
- Xavi scored an important equalizer on the second goal. It was crucial, a great placed shot. Also, it must be a confidence booster as Xavi has not scored for a long time.
- Daniel Alves made the assists to Xavi and Messi’s goal. In addition, it was the usual constant, energizing performance on the right flank from the Brazilian.
- Messi scored the important winning goal, and what a goal! Messi’s putting in performance that is set on making him become the next World Player of the Year right there!
- In the end, the win obtained was extremely vital. The win ensured Barcelona is ahead of Real Madrid on 12 points yet again.
- The two goals conceded. The manner in which both goals conceded were poor, poor marking from the defenders.
- As yet again, each of the two goals conceded were from set-pieces play once more. Susceptible to the opposition’s set-pieces again.
- This is the first game in La Liga since the win against Real Betis that Barcelona had conceded two goals in a game.
- Barça had gone behind the scoreline 2-1 after they had scored the first goal.
- Another negative point I like to state is that Osasuna scored their second goal in a fairly short period after scoring their first.
- Messi, unlucky with his first chance in the game in the opening 10 minutes. Very good run and cutting through the Osasuna defene, only for the ball to hit the post and rebound out of the way.
- I believe that Eric Abidal was troubled with Juanfran down the left flank.
- I think that Samuel Eto’o has not been decisive in involving and building up attacking gameplay for several games now, including this one. However though he has been scoring crucial goals nonetheless (as with his goal in this game).
- I didn’t think that Seydou Keita added much in Barça’s play. Did not seem to me to be really threatening when he went up and attack.
