“ ...The fans have been calling for this for a while now. I think it’s going to live up to the expectations and the hype so expect an exciting fight Saturday night. I know Dan is a gamer and so am I, and I’m sure we’re going to make this a good one. ” - Rich Franklin

Marcus Davis vs. Chris Lyttle
A bit unsure, but I would pick Marcus Davis to win in this fight. I think that with the way both fighters like to play out their fights, this would be a standup war with plenty of punching exchanges. I think Davis has the edge, probably the better boxing, and perhaps the more overall fighting game since I also think he has the better ground game.
Whatever it is, I think this would be a standup battle in terms of the full three rounds, with Davis edging out on a decision win.
My Predicted Victor: Marcus Davis
Kang will make his UFC debut.
This is a fight I am looking forward to as I like to see how the Canadian would perform in the Octagon this time around.
Anyhow, as I like to see Kang win, I think there could be the chance that Belcher would end up winning. Belcher has the experience in the Octagon, and perhaps that would provide certain advantage for Belcher. Nevertheless I think this fight could be one where both fighters display their strengths, but looking at Kang’s past fights, it looks as if he might end up loosing at the end.
Heart says Kang win, head says Belcher win. For this fight, I’m going with my head, and say Belcher to get the victory (decision).
My Predicted Victor: Alan Belcher
Palhares returns, and so does old timer Jeremy Horn.
I’m going to pick on Palhares to win, and with another submission victory. I predict he’ll win either in the 2nd or 3rd round.
Talking on Horn’s perspective however, I think that if he were to win, it’s obvious that he has to keep the fight standing, if it ends on the ground at any moment that’s going to be an extremely dangerous situation as Rousimar Palhares is going to make it hell for Horn to survive from the Brazilian’s power and BJJ game. Also, with him being the taller and having a good reach advantage over Palhares it’s best that Horn use the best of his advantages in a striking contest in order to win the fight. I think that if Horn were to win this fight, perhaps he would win by a split decision.
Nonetheless, I’m picking on Palhares to win. He’s a powerful guy and I think Horn is going to end up grappled and wrestled to the floor at many points in the fight, and where Palhares would end the fight through his very own strengths.
My Predicted Victor: Rousimar Palhares
Aaahhhhh…….Shogun is back. Hopefully he’ll get his first win in the UFC.
Anyway, looking at a more objective perspective on this particular duel, there’s two different factors that both Shogun and Coleman would need to be wary off as the fight ensues: Shogun is coming off a disappointing loss against forest Griffin and he had to go through those horrible injuries after that.
Coleman is getting older and older, and last fought in what was 2007. Fight rust, cardio and of course he’s going to fight at 205, so there would be the question of whether he’ll able to withstand the fight duration (or perhaps Shogun’s strikes).
Shogun’s strengths would be his Muay Thai and BJJ. Coleman’s strengths would be his wrestling and maybe being the more powerful fighter in this fight. I’m not so sure on whether Coleman will be able to keep the pace, but I think that one factor that will remain to be seen is that whether Shogun himself can keep up the pace, and this is due to his past injuries (the danger is that it might creep up on him and that could be dangerous factor in this fight, especially regarding the Brazilian’s chances on winning the fight). If Shogun can keep his pace more than Coleman can, thus I think and predict that Shogun would win.
Anyhow, I just like to see Shogun win, and with a good victory nonetheless. I believe that he’ll end up winning by a submission, maybe in the second round.
I think that Shogun will keep this on striking exchanges; punches, kicks and knees constantly, and once he’s in the clinch with Coleman, when both end up on the ground the Brazilian would capitalize on utilizing his BJJ skill to negate Coleman’s wrestling and get the submission.
My Predicted Victor: Mauricio Rua
It’s fixed that whoever emerges victorious in this fight will be coaching in the next edition of The Ultimate Fighter opposite Michael Bisping. Not that I’m really bothered anyway about it. Moving on how I think the fight’s going to play out, I’m predicting on Hendo to win on decision. He’s got the more reputable experience and faced tougher challenges, and plus that bomb of a right hand of his.
If Franklin were to win, I guess it would be by playing out to a decision as well, just that he needs to win the striking exchanges and get more dominant position control once these two end up in the clinch or on the ground.
Still going for Dan Henderson to win though. I think he’s strong and tough enough to counter up against any hit by Franklin.
I expect this fight to be a sluggish affair.
