"By embarking on the pilgrimage to Hajj, you are making one of the most important journeys of your life. You are submitting to the Will of Allah (SWT) and you are undertaking this endeavour purely to please Him. You are also following in the foot steps of the Ahlul Bait (a.s.)." - Shabbir Murtaza Lakha (The Hajj: The Ultimate Journey)
Today is what is known among Malaysians as Hari Raya Haji or Hari Raya Aidiladha. It is the day associated with the Hajj, the 5th pillar of the religion Islam, where millions of muslims every year perform the "holy" pilgrimage at the grounds of Arafat and Mina and ending it in the Masjidil Haram mosque (most noble place in Islam). It is also the day associated with korban, where muslims will work together to "prepare" food to other muslims from animals such as cows, goats as well as camels. In Islam, it is also associated with the event of the prophet Ibrahim receiving the orders of God that he "slaughter" his son the prophet Ismail, where in the end God replaces Ismail with that of a sheep (...can't remember, but something like that). It is also the day associated with korban. Korban means sacrifice, but of course in the context of Islam korban is sacrifice in anything , so that muslims can all be better and more devout followers, following the teachings stated in the Quran. Anyway, that is my summary about the Hajj.
So to summarized today, got up around 7.25 am. Showered, had quick breakfast and then off to the National Mosque with parents and brother to perform the prayer "Sembahyang sunat Aidiladha" at 8 am. Car was parked near the Islamic arts & craft museum nearby the mosque, 'cause there it was no hassle (parking inside the mosque's compund was packed, and you'll be getting trouble to get out). Lot of people were there, with various styling of clothes. Some wore just like it was Hari Raya Aidilfitri, wearing a complete set of baju melayu with songket and songkok. Some (like me) wore just a set of baju melayu. Some (like my father and brother) wore a baju melayu but with kain pelikat. Some wore just pants with shirt or some with t-shirts even. And so on....(and of course the women wore their attire according to the rules and regulations of praying).
There were quite a number of foreigners, mostly Bangladeshis. Saw some Pakistanis (from the clothes they wore), a few Arabs, and few Africans. Didn't see much Indonesians though (perhaps they prayed at somewhere else).
As usual, before praying started, the imam addressed the people on how to perform the prayers (considering that the prayer done for this occasion is only once a year, so people most probably would forget). And also as usual, once the prayers are finished, there'll be a number of people already leaving the mosques (padahal lepas sembahyang ada khutbah, yg sepatutnya didengar dulu).
So that's about it, from my perspectives. Malaysians muslims don't generally "celebrate" aidiladha much, it's not something like the aidilfitri (the "celebration" after fasting for a month). So nothing special, nothing grand, nothing extravaganza happened among people. From my point in Malaysia, it's more of a day off for people, where they go and perform the related prayers for this kind of day. Of course, the problem that I think is that, Malaysians tend to not really dwelve on the religious and spiritual aspect of aidiladha (and even aidilfitri). They usually "focused" on the "celebrating" part more, not much on devoting to God and helping other Muslims more (for both aidilfitri or aidiladha). Anyway................

Tomorrow APIIT life begins once again. I don't really know what to expect,...eagerness......happiness.....boredom......maybe "killingness" (5 subjects people)...don't know.......
I think I'll say...........JUST BRING IT ON!!!
If there's one thing that I want to get this semester around, then it's to be properly successfull. No more last minute studying, no more last minute doing assignments, no more .........wait, there's nothing else really. Those two stuff have been infecting my education experiences ever since I started schooling, so ........it's time to change, ...time to change.I think I'll say...........JUST BRING IT ON!!!
So, in the mood for tomorrow, I present a song by John Cena, "The Time Is Now". Peace.
"The Time Is Now" - John Cena & tha Trademarc

.....(trumpets' sounds).....
.............................................
Your time is up, my time is now ...now..now...
You can't see me, my time is now ...now..now...
It's the franchise, boy I'm shinin' now ...now..now...
YOU CAN'T SEE ME, MY TIME IS NOW!!!
In case you forgot or fell off, I'm still hot - knock your shell off
My money stack fat plus I can't turn the swell off,
The franchise, doin big bid'ness, I live this
It's automatic I win this ... oh you hear those horns, you finished,
A soldier, and I stay under you fightin'
Plus I'm stormin' on you chumps like I'm thunder and lightning,
Ain't no way you breakin' me kid, I'm harder than nails
Plus I keep it on lock, like I'm part of the jail,
I'm slaughterin' stale, competition, I got the whole block wishin
they could run with my division but they gone fishin' -
- with no bait, kid your boy hold weight
I got my soul straight, I brush your mouth like Colgate,
In any weather I'm never better your boy's so hot
you'll never catch me in the next man's sweater,
If they hate, let 'em hate, I drop ya whole clan
Lay yo' a-s DOWN for the three second TAN
Your time is up, my time is now ...now..now...
You can't see me, my time is now ...now..now...
It's the franchise, boy I'm shinin now ...now..now...
YOU CAN'T SEE ME, MY TIME IS NOW!!!
Yeah, uhh
It's gon' be what it's gon' be
5 pounds of courage buddy, bass tint pants with a gold T,
Uhh ... it's a war dance and victory step
A raw stance is a gift, when you insist it's my rep,
John Cena, Trademarc, y'all are so-so
And talk about the bread you make but don't know the recipe for dough though,
Aimin' guns in all your photos, that's a no-no
When this pop, you'll liplock, your big talk's a blatant no-show,
See what happens when the ice age melt
You see monetary status is not what matters, but it helps,
I rock a timepiece by Benny if any
The same reason y'all could love me is the same reason y'all condemn me,
A man's measured by the way that he thinks
Not clothing lines, ice links, leather and minks,
I spent 20 plus years seekin' knowledge of self
So for now, Marc Predka's livin' live for wealth...
Your time is up, my time is now ...now..now...
You can't see me, my time is now ...now..now...
It's the franchise, boy I'm shinin' now ...now..now...
YOU CAN'T SEE ME, MY TIME IS NOW!!!
