"I always tell the truth. Even when I lie." - Tony Montana (Scarface)
Going back retro for today, decided to dug up info on how all this blog thang started.
It seemed that the first blog created was by some guy call Tim Berners-Lee at some location known as CERN (don't know what is that), during the period known as 'Dawn of Internet Time'. He used it as to keep a list of all new sites as they came online. Then you got organizations like NCSA and Netscape began implementing a list of new sites coming online on their own space. Then somewhere in 1994, a Justin Hall created his own web site where he kept account of his personal daily activities and matters. One of the earliest bloggers, this guy was recognized by Time magazine as "the founding father of personal blogging" (December 2004).
Fast forward to 17 December 1997, a Jorn Barger coined the term known as "weblog". Fast forward again to somewhat early 1999, a Peter Merholz coined the term "blog" (apparently he short-cut "weblog" to "wee-blog", which indefinetely became just "blog").
Then came the "parties" that started making blog available for anybody. Xanga was launched in '96. Then blogging spreaded popularly during '99 onwards following when two people (Evan Williams and Meg Hourihan) launched Blogger.com and Paul Kedrosky's GrokSoup. Blogger was stated to be "the most popular web based blogging tool to date, and popularizes blogging with mainstream internet users".
Then blogging of all kinds came up during the 2000's - politics, journalism, news,...........etc.
So ends the history lesson....
If there's one thing, why is it that when coming to things related to computers, some terms invented are words like blog, spam, bug, worm, zip. Don't know how to describe these words but......they are these kind of words.
I think I'm gonna coined a term in the future. Maybe I'll use words like "spank", "gob", "maggi" and "bollock".
On matters related to the world, Barcelona Futbol Club chalked up their 15th win in a row in all competitions, the latest being in the Catalan derby, by beating Espanyol (los blanquiazul) 1-2 at Montjuïc stadium. Deco once again delivers when the tough got going and Eto'o, amazingly has now scored 18 goals in 18 matches!
Bravo Barça, bravo!
