Alternative title: The 10th victory, and the first in Copa del Rey
I wasn’t able to watch this game properly. It was not shown on TV here, so I had to resort to frustrating streaming. Quality wasn’t great, kept buffering once in a while, all in all a crappy reception.
Nonetheless the analysis has to go on, but I’m only able to point out obvious positives and negatives from the outcome of this game.
Positives
- Barcelona begins the Copa campaign with a win, away from home.
- The winning streak continues, now it is the 10th straight victory in what is now three competitions that Barça is involved in.
- Hopefully this will spurn on another continuous winning streak (now in the Copa del Rey).
- Another positive point is this game is the forth game in a row where the team kept clean sheet.
- Great goal from Bojan Krkic.
- The team pulled through in the end in achieving the win.
Negatives
- Only one goal was scored. If looking at logic, by looking at the quality of the opposition (not to mean disrespect though) and from Barça’s past performances in scoring plenty of goals from the previous games, it was a let down.
- Perhaps the most frustrating game played by Barça ever since they start winning big.
- Less opportunities and chances from Barcelona in this game.
- Yellow cards received by Caceres and Abidal. Could prove dentrimental as yellow card in the Copa games are bring forward to La Liga games as well (correct me if I’m wrong).
- Victor Sanchez with that goal ruled out. Could’ve been a goal if maybe he’d done a bit better on the chance he had.
- Bojan had missed several good chances I believe.
