Alternative Title: Bad Beginning, Dissapointing Debut
Negatives - The first game begins with a defeat. 3 points lost, a defeat in the league is never good (unless the championship is already in the hands).
- It's the same stupid sh-t as last season. Poor gameplay, slow movement, bad/mis passes, always trying to plow their attack through the middle (and Numancia was like a fortified bunker).
- The goal conceded was poor. Poor marking, who the hell was covering Mario? It as if lessons were not learnt from even the preseason games (same sort of goals conceded).
- Everybody was crap.
- From the game, Messi couldn't cut it playing in the middle. Whether it was on Guardiola's orders or Messi simply tried to dictate gameplay on his own, he was just ineffective in the middle.
- Criticism on Guardiola is that it seems that tactically he got it wrong. Sticking to the same ineffective formation as last season and and also deploying the equally ineffective Xavi-Iniesta combo in midfield. After all talks of adjusting tactics to the opponent's gameplay, it seemed all the talks were total bust.
- At least none of the players received any serious injuries.
- Guardiola's subsitutions were at least done in a more urgency manner and quicker, than what Rijkaard would have done.
- The little bright spark was when Hleb came in, and he utilized the wing more than any of the other players.
