CHAPTER 116: YouTube, Of Abused/Misused Comments & Chain Messages

YouTube is a wonderful application. I think that it is one of those sites that’s going to be around for very a long time, with the potential that it’s features and usability present for Internet users all around the world. Also adding the fact that it is one of the premier video sites available, I personally believe that it’s one of the best Internet site or application that anyone can make use of. Anything made can be made of good use. There’s also bad things that can be used as well. AND as with any thing in this world, there’s always the niggling factor in how that such thing is being use (or in certain cases, exploited) by PEOPLE. HUMAN BEINGS. The thing I want point out here is that when it comes to YouTube, you know that there will always be those commenting sections for videos (unless those people who uploaded videos made the option of disabling comments). Fact is, people have their freedom in stating or expressing whatever they want when they are commenting. But the issue that arises in this matter is that too many times I keep seeing people arguing and bickering over each other. Arguing and bickering over each other’s comments, each other’s views, each other’s opinions,…………etc. Sometimes it’s interesting to read such comments………..sometimes funny as well……………but sometimes there are those comments that riles you up the wrong way as well (especially if the video you watch pertains to something you like or believe in) and then there’s this anonymous YouTube user criticizing or downright dissing on the video or whatever message that the video would convey to people, so it gets under your skin at times. But I suppose it’s nature to contradict, counter and argue about something or anything. Problem is some do it in a nice, gentlemen and tact manner, while some don’t give a fu-k about what others might think…. Looking back at it, with the amount of numbers of people commenting on a YouTube vid (and furthermore adding on Video responses), I think that YouTube is becoming like a forum or message board. Could this be the face of how forums will be like for the future?................ Anyway, back to the point about comments on YouTube, there’s been this increase of a commenting kind/behaviour that I’ve been seeing around YouTube lately, the chain messages sort of comments. There’s this kind of comments where they’ll be writing like some curse befell on somebody or some girl was molested and killed and now has come back to life, so if you don’t pass this message around or post the same comment you are going to be condemned or killed or whatever sh-t. And then you got other YouTube users posting/repeating the same comments on the same thing and making it (in certain cases) extremely annoying to read. Hmph……real bloody annoying. I suppose it was an idea of a prank by somebody, thus starting this kind of phenomenon and now you are seeing these kinds of comments everywhere (everybody else is making these kinds of comments, hoping on the bandwagon).
