"Kejayaan ini cukup manis sebab kita kekalkan pingat emas,
sekali gus membuktikan kemenangan di Laos bukan kerana nasib." - Ong Kim Swee
ONE YEAR AFTER, WE'RE THE CONQUERORS OF GELORA BUNG KARNO ONCE AGAIN.
The Malaysian Under 23 football squad has won the gold medal at the 2011 SEA Games in Indonesia.
This win is the latest of achievements for the country involving in the football arena.
We won the gold medal for football at the same SEA GAMES back in 2009, and that was followed up by winning the Suzuki Cup last year.
And let's not forget, by winning this particular gold medal we actually defended our gold medal from two years ago!

Apek came up BIG TIME once again when he saved that last kick from Ferdinand Sinaga, and that winning penalty from Baddrol Bakhtiar was epic itself.
You thought the Indonesian keeper managed to save it, only for the destiny of that ball still ended up away from him rolling backwards towards the goal line to clinch the gold for us!
I gotta say, the most relieved Malaysian (and I'm not just talking about the players nor the team staff, I'm meaning EVERY SINGLE MALAYSIAN FROM MALAYSIA) has got to be Fakri.
That guy went and squandered 2 excellent 1 on 1 opportunity to score in the second half, and he himself ended up having his penalty kick blocked.
All in all, another great moment for the country, our football is going through a great phase of success these past couple of years. The gold medal at Sea Games 2009, Suzuki Cup last year and now this gold medal from this year, long it may continue.
It's a big shame that we miss out on the last stage of the World Cup qualifiers (Fu-k Singapore & Fu-k their Fu-kin' imports).
That's definitely one of the penalty shootouts I'm going to remember for a very long time.......
